BEHIND THE LENS

James spent 20 years working with Cardiff’s Sherman Cymru Theatre as an actor, writer and director. He has performed with the Welsh International Youth Theatre, Everyman Theatre Company, No Fit State Circus, Welsh National Opera and became a founding member of the Sherman Nation theatre troupe.

 

James worked as a Pizzaman after attending the International Film School of Wales during which time he set up the videography company Thames Jameilo. He went on to work for the BBC, ITV and Endemol on various well known factual television productions including Homes Under the Hammer and The Million Pound Drop.

 

James made Pizzaman as a low/no budget community project with long time collaborator, artist and filmmaker Teilo Trimble. All time was volunteered by cast and crew and all equipment borrowed. Entire production costs totalled £2000 primarily consisting of phone calls, digital tapes and petrol. Pizzaman was filmed over 16 days using 42 locations and 39 actors.

 

James currently resides in London with his family and just completed his first book.
